At the Toronto MIGS Centre, we believe in providing quality care to our patients. Our surgeons offer a diverse range of minimally invasive surgical procedures to meet the needs of our patients.

 

Our 8 MIGS Staff are University of Toronto academic faculty and are located at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

We have:

  • 4 full time AAGL accredited advanced laparoscopic surgeons, and

  • 4 full time urogynecologists with recognized urogynecology fellowship training that includes advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Dr Bodley is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s medical school and completed her urogynecology fellowship training at WCH/SHSC (University of Toronto). She holds a Masters in Education (OISE) and has an interest in faculty development with focus on mentorship and role modeling. She also has a special interest in healthcare humanities and physician wellness.

Dr Kung graduated from the University of Toronto’s medical school and completed her Urogynecology Fellowship training in Vienna, UCLA & Women’s College Hospital (University of Toronto). She has a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology (McMaster University). Dr Kung has an interest in disorders associated with female incontinence and prolapse as well as endometriosis and fibroids. She was instrumental in the development of laparoscopic urogynecology in Canada and was the first in the country to perform laparoscopic Burch, laparoscopic colposacropexy and laparoscopic suburethral sling procedures.

Dr Lee is full-time staff urogynecologist at SHSC. She completed medical school at McGill University, Urogynecology Fellowship training at the University of Toronto, and is American Board subspecialty certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). She is interested in surgical outcomes, quality improvement, as well as surgical education research.

Dr. Liu is a full-time active staff at SHSC. She has special expertise in the medical and surgical management of complex fibroids and stage IV endometriosis. She graduated from medical school at the University of Toronto and completed a fellowship in advanced gynecologic endoscopic surgery through AAGL (American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists) in 2001. She has a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology from Harvard University.

Clinical profile

After graduating from immunology at the University of Toronto and graduating from medicine at Queen’s University, Dr. Po completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Toronto. Following residency, she completed the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) fellowship in minimally invasive gynaecologic surgery. Dr. Po also has a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality from Queen’s University.

In addition to obstetrical care, her practice focuses on the management of fibroids and endometriosis, as well as advanced laparoscopic surgery. She has been invited to present at national and international meetings on management of fibroids and endometriosis. She is also one of the preceptors for the AAGL fellowship program at Sunnybrook.

 

Research interests

Dr. Po’s research interest is in quality improvement and patient safety (QIPS). She is currently the gynaecology lead for QIPS at Sunnybrook. She is also actively involved in QIPS at the University of Toronto and nationally for the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.

  • Completed a fellowship in advanced gynecologic endoscopic surgery though the AAGL (American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists) in 2004

  • Completed a master of science in physiology in 1994

  • Co-director of the AAGL fellowship training program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (only one of two AAGL training programs in Canada)

  • Focus on laparoscopic hysterectomies, laparoscopic fibroid surgery and laser surgery for endometriosis

  • Education interest in surgical training of fellows, residents and medical students
